Dear Saint Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church and Community,
Thank you for your generous donation of new clothing, gifts, and FUN PAKS. This made a difference for 161 teens in Boone County. Parents were very grateful for the great selection to choose from and shared their gratitude to the community.
Many things bring people to the Caring Center. Some donate, others volunteer, and many come in need of services. Every day is different, and we never know what is next. For example, Becky came in short on rent, needing clothes for her daughter and food for her family. She also had a medical need that wasn’t being met by her current income. Thanks to you, and many like you, Becky was able to leave with everything she needed, including an appointment with an agency to help with her medical needs.
We are excited that our food pantry has more storage capabilities with our new layout. This allows us to serve our neighbors better than ever. Did you know we have seen a near 20% increase in our food pantry? We could not reach the community like we do without you. We, and those we serve, thank you again for your generosity!
Sincerely,
Theresa Hanners
Executive Director
According to Jennifer Dolack, SAL Outreach Ministry coordinator for the Caring Center, there were volunteers from pre-school age to octogenarians!
“We collected more food than I’ve seen for one food drive, ever!” said Jennifer. “Also we had so many people help load the truck Sunday night and then caravan up to the Caring Center and unload the truck to protect the food. The team effort was inspiring and beautiful. Many families and individuals will be helped by the generosity of our community, our parishioners, and our volunteers.”
Thank you to all who helped out on one of the coldest weekends of the season. We are grateful to all who participated in any way!
