  Totus Tuus, Latin for “Totally Yours,” is a week-long, parish-based, Catholic, summer catechetical program for youth entering 1^st – 12^th grade. It is dedicated to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and promoting the Catholic faith through Christian witness, catechetical instruction, vocational discernment, Marian devotion, and Eucharistic worship. A favorite motto of St. John Paul II, Totus Tuus reminds us of Mary’s total gift of herself to God, and how, like Mary, we are called to give ourselves totally to Jesus Christ.

  Totus Tuus was started in Wichita, Kansas in 1987. Today, Totus Tuus is hosted in as many as 50 arch/dioceses across North America, will arrive in the Diocese of Lafayette this summer. In addition to St. Alphonsus Liguori, eleven other parishes across our diocese will host Totus Tuus this summer.

  Totus Tuus is led by a team of college students who are trained and commissioned to serve the youth - teams of four, two women/two men, travel to parishes across the diocese. Each week they visit a new parish and host a five-day parish mission, similar to "Vacation Bible School." Missionaries are responsible for teaching classes to grades 1-6 during the day and hosting a program for grades 7-12 in the evening. Missionaries are trained to teach classes on theological topics. Missionaries stay with a host family from the parish, and meals are provided during the week.

  Totus Tuus is currently seeking 4 Catholic men and 4 Catholic women, college-aged, interested in being missionaries this summer. You should be someone who lives your Catholic faith and be willing to act out crazy skits and messy, fun games. You will actively participate in the Sacraments, Adoration, and devotion to our Blessed Mother. Totus Tuus is a summer of intense sacrifice. You will grow as a disciple and leader. You'll make new friends and be inspired to live your faith more deeply. There is a small stipend and a retreat for the team over the July 4th break.

  To help young people understand the gift of the sacraments more fully, Totus Tuus includes daily participation in the Eucharist as well as opportunities for Reconciliation.

  Totus Tuus is concerned not only with sharing the faith but also with setting a fire in the hearts of the children.
  
  Curriculum
  
  The curriculum themes that are used each summer are part of a larger framework that covers the four main pillars of the Catechism over the course of a six-year cycle. Theme for 2022: Our Father Prayer and the Luminous Mysteries.

  Elementary-Early Middle Program (1st – 6th Grade)

  During the week, the youth will participle in four classes each day, have the opportunity for Reconciliation, attend daily Mass, learn the Mass parts and liturgical songs, and participate in games, icebreakers, skits, songs, fun, and prayer.
