You might think that evangelization is for priests and staff, however the Bible and the Catechism are clear....we are all called to be "fishers of men, not the keepers of the aquarium."
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
- Matthew 28:19 - 20
"Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist are sacraments of Christian initiation. They ground the common vocation of all Christ’s disciples, a vocation to holiness and to the mission of evangelizing the world.”
- Catechism of the Catholic Church 1533
Many of us struggle with how to evangelize - do I stand on the corner? Do I get in people's faces? How about I will let my example do the talking. Yes, that is great if you are a living saint. However, I would say most of us are saints in training. This discipleship workshop is designed to equip you with the necessary skills and understanding to be evangelizers.
Jesus invested in a small group of people forming them through love and accompaniment. He proclaimed the good news by word and deed. His ministry was based on relationships and intentional development of others equipping them with the ability to carry on the mission to make disciples of all the nations.
Jesus' small-group approach grew the Church into one of the largest religions in the world - but this wouldn't happen without disciples being sent to evangelize the world and create new disciples!
