"By humble and faithful prayer, the soul acquires, with time and perserverance, every virtue."
- Saint Catherine of Siena
As Catholics, our spiritual growth depends on our impetus to engage in prayer and reflect upon our connection to God through the Holy Spirit. While the Eucharist is essential in nourishing our hearts and souls, there are additional aspects of our faith that aid us in the journey to holiness. It is human nature to turn to Jesus in times of need, but even more important to remember prayers of praise and worship, thanksgiving and contrition.
We are given many wonderful examples in the lives of the saints, as to how to raise our spiritual awareness; in emulating them, we strive to know God more intimately, and by retreating from worldly distractions, we are more likely to hear His voice.
