Guests socialize after presentation.Theology on Tap is a series of speaker events that take place in the casual dinning atomosphere of Oobatz restaurant located on Oak Street just east of Saint Alphonsus Liguori.
The events bring together young adults and others who find the evening's topic of interest. Attendees have the option to dine prior to presentations, hear from engaging speakers, socialize and ask questions. The topics for this summer have followed the theme of "Seeing God."
Join us! There are still three more great presentations in store!
- Monday, August 15 at 7 p.m.,Presentation on Basilica de la Sagrada Familia
While many young adults are in Spain next week for World Youth Day, here is a great opportunity to bring the spice of the Catholic culture in Spain to those of us still in Indiana. Local architect, Rick Rush, will dive into the fasinating story behind Barcelona's church and why it's still under construction nearly 130 years after the start of the building process. This is an amazing presentation you'll want to see.
Fun fact: When Basilica de la Sagrada Familia is said to be completed it will have 18 towers: 12 dedicated to the apostles, 4 to the evangelists, one to Jesus and another to Mary. Wow!
- Monday, August 22 at 7p.m.,Changes in the Mass Translation
Joining us for our final summer Theology on Tap evening will be Rex Rund, as he takes guests into the new changes of the Mass translation with the 3rd Edition of the Roman Missal. This is a great opportunity to learn the meaning behind the changes and what to look for as the Church moves into the Advent season.
- Monday, August 29 at 7p.m.,Seeing God in Our Plans
Diocesan Vocations Director, Father Hasser will speak with guests on how to see God as we look ahead at life. With so many goals, vocational discernment and other bumps and obstacles along the road, Father Hasser will help reveal ways in which we can keep seeing God through it all. Please note: the location for this event is still being finalized. Please check the parish calendar prior to the date for the definite location.
No need to RSVP. Oobatz restaurant is located at 1576 West Oak Street, Zionsville. We look forward to seeing you there! If you have any questions regarding Theology on Tap or other young adult events, please email youngadult@zionsvillecatholic.com.
