The St. Michael Prayer

The bishop requests that any additional prayers, such as the Saint Michael prayer, take place after the closing hymn. I have encouraged us to pray the Saint Michael prayer after Mass as a reminder that we are engaged in a spiritual battle against evil. To be sure, there is no more powerful instrument against evil in the world than the Eucharist. At the same time, we are a Church that believes in the power of intercessory prayer of both the angels and the saints. To clearly delineate the end of the Mass and the exercise of devotional prayer, I will have the cantor lead the Saint Michael prayer after the closing hymn. - Fr. Travis
