The Prayer Shawl Ministry consists of a group of dedicated ladies who give their time and talent to knit prayer shawls for those who are struggling with the pain and suffering that life sometimes presents.
The group meets at
7:00 pm on the first Wednesday of each month at a parishioner's home. They also meet at
10:00 am on the second Tuesday of the month. You do not have to be a seasoned knitter to join the group - someone will help you out. Bring size 11 or 13 knitting needles (or a crochet needle); yarn is provided. Call the parish office or
click here to email a Lorie Heneghan for location and information.
Each shawl takes about 50 hours to create, and uses three skeins of yarn. We give away close to 50 shawls annually. Each shawl is prayed over as it is made, and then blessed by one of our priests whenever possible, before being offered to someone in need.
If you or someone you know would benefit from a prayer shawl, please visit our parish office.
