If you missed Thursday's gathering, feel free to view images of the event below.
On Thursday, September 8, parishioners were joined by the Knights of Columbus and Boy Scout Troop #358 to watch as a piece of the World Trade Center drove by in a procession that included area police and fire departments as well as American Legion Riders.
The procession was part of a local 9/11 tribute that took place in Zionsville followed by a special program, ice cream social and fireworks show at Zionsville High School.
The Knights of Columbus stood quietly by State Road 334 saluting the officers as they drove past while parishioners stood with rosaries and umbrellas in hand to watch.
Prior to the event, scout members raised the parish's new Service Flag that is flown in support of our parishioners who are currently serving the country. Family members of these officers were also present to watch as the banner was attached below the American Flag.
Following the event, which took place on the celebrated birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Knights of Columbus led others in a rosary that was prayed inside the Day Chapel.
Thank you to our Knights, the Boy Scouts and all who were a part of this small but special gathering.
May we continue to keep all those affected by the 9/11 tragedy and those serving our country in our prayers. Photos submitted by parishioner Tony Kaufmann and Diane Peasel.
