An Appeal for the Little Sisters of The Poor and Residents of the St Augustine Home for The Aged:
Perhaps you are aware that the Little Sisters have a tradition of begging in the community for funds, food, and necessities. They visit local markets and businesses to provide for their own needs and those of their residents, but with the recent lockdown, this has not been possible.
Here's what we can do:
1. Pray
Five of the sisters have tested positive for COVID-19. In total 8 or 9 nuns, workers or residents have contracted the virus.2. Provide:
Drop off any of the following items to the Sports Field Parking Lot behind the rectory BETWEEN NOON AND 1PM ON FRIDAY, JUNE 5:
Individually wrapped snacks (pretzels, popcorn, potato chips, trail mix, chocolate candies, etc.)
Ice cream (vanilla, strawberry, chocolate or Neapolitan)
Hot dogs
Individually wrapped cheese slices
Ham
Sausage
Breakfast cereals (they like the sweet stuff!)
Toilet paper, hand sanitizer, and like items.
