“School Lunch for the Children”
For Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic School at Our Twin Parish in Croix Fer, Haiti
During the Saint Alphonsus Mission trip in 2014, our mission team learned that the children at our twin parish school no longer received lunch during the school day (previous funding was no longer available).
A substantial hot meal for the children at Saint Anthony’s school consists of rice, beans, spices, and oil. If the lunch program goal is met, fish and sauce may be included in the hot meal periodically.
Lunch costs about 40 cents each day, per child. Our goal for the coming school year is to feed approximately 300 children.
Sponsoring a child for $80 provides lunch for the school year. This includes a portion for propane for the kitchen stove.
Donations in any amount are greatly appreciated.
