February recognizes Catholic media sources striving to inform, educate and evangelize Catholics through strong print publications and an increasing use of other media.
As shared in a pastoral letter last summer, Bishop Timothy Doherty urged the faithful of the diocese to use media sources that are from the Catholic Church or organizations in union with the Church. One of these sources is the diocesan's own newspaper, The Catholic Moment.
As part of the ministry to inform, educate and evangelize, The Catholic Moment, is a weekly printed publication that is mailed to registered families. It serves to share pastoral messages from Bishop Doherty, recent topics of Church and faith, and the latest happenings taking place throughout more than 60 parishes.
Special Offering this weekend: Just in time for Catholic Press Month, the diocese is having a second collection at parishes on February 16 - 17, to support the ministry of The Catholic Moment.
This offering will provide for the distribution and subscription costs in order for the newspaper to be delivered to homes. A gift of $20 can pay for one family to receive this resource. Individual parishes compensate for subscriptions for their registered families in efforts with this gift offering. Therefore, gifts this weekend will help support the
Catholic Moment ministry for members of this parish.
Please show your gratitude for
The Catholic Moment with a gift to the second collection this coming weekend.
