What if I already use an ACH service for my giving?
Parishioners who currently use ACH for their giving may continue to use the same system they have or may chose to cancel that automatic withdraw and use online giving. If a parishioner wishes to cancel their ACH, they must contact the parish office to do so. In order to keep everything consistent, the parish will no longer offer old ACH processes, but instead encourage parishioners to use online giving if they are giving automatically for the first time. What if my online banking allows me to automatically send checks to the parish?
Many online banking services allow checks to be processed by a user online and then sent to the organization the funds are for. This service may work well for many bill paying needs and can still be accepted for parish offertories; however, when receiving these checks it often times does not state the type of gift, what it is meant for, or sometimes even who the parishioner is that is sending the funds. Online giving allows the same fast giving process for users while making it easier for the parish to track where the funds go and from whom they came. Return to top
Why is the parish deciding to use online giving?
With advancing technologies many parishes and charities offer individuals and families a way to give online with credit cards or an automatic withdrawal from a bank account. The user then determines the gift amount to come from that account for a specified donation (e.g. weekly giving, Seminarian Appeal, etc ...) and the funds are then automatically transferred on the contribution dates from the user's account to the church's account.
