Join the parish and other ministry volunteers for the next Ministry Leaders Session, taking place on Tuesday, March 6 at 7 p.m. in Parish Hall. Even though we may not chair a ministry or group, volunteers are still leaders when they take part and help create, teach, plan, prepare, etc ... Here is an opportunity for someone from your group to attend an informative session and bring information back to the group at your next gathering. The session will focus on effective project planning. RSVP to this event.
What is Ministry Leaders Sessions? Did you know that the parish has more than 60 active programs? That is more than 60 ways families can take part in their parish community while growing in faith and sharing the Church's mission through many opportunities. With so much programming happening at our vibrant parish, it can feel overwhelming when trying to inform others, recruit volunteers and plan a number of events.
Remember, even though each ministry at the parish has its own goals, we are still part of one mission and there are a number of ways that Saint Alphonsus Liguori can assist your ministry through various avenues of communication as well as opportunities to strengthen participation and effective planning.
The Next Session Date: Tuesday, March 6 from 7 to 8 p.m. in Parish Hall
The Topic: Effective Project Planning - Volunteering in a ministry includes creating. Groups and volunteers are always creating opportunities like donation drives, dinners, educational programs, bake sales, parties and much much more. Whether you are starting a project from scratch or trying to follow notes by a previous volunteer, we know there are a lot of variables that go into projects and limited time, resources and volunteers. Plus, not everyone is as organizationally savvy as we'd like to think we are. This evening's topic will cover an effective and easy process to determine the scope of your ministry's next project, how to stay on track with realistic goals, ways to create basic workflows and timelines, how to make the most of a meeting with volunteers, ways to distribute roles to others and how to document progress as a starting point for the next time you do it or a similar project.
The Presenter: Parishioner Jack Evans is the Director of Project Management for the State of Indiana's Bureau of Motor Vehicles. He helps direct and complete about 50 major projects a year while working with a vast number of teams and individuals with various talents. As an active member in the Knights of Columbus, he has used his professional skills to help keep events at the parish on track while making sure goals and elements are achieved throughout the planning process. He is excited to share with ministry volunteers a way to apply basic steps to help ease some of the hassle that comes with creating just about any size project.
We'd like to know how many people are attending so we can prepare materials. Please use the following link to RSVP for your ministry:
