Each year St. Alphonsus Liguori parishioners respond to serve families throughout our area and even across the globe. The parish’s Outreach Committee helps coordinate and share ways which our faith community can create a difference in the lives of others. One of those ways is working with Habitat for Humanity and surrounding churches to build homes.
No worries, because you don’t need to be a carpenter or even know how to use a power tool in order to be a part of this amazing ministry.
Offering our gifts Building houses for families takes both labor and funds in order to complete each project. This weekend a special collection is taking place for families who wish to give toward the home building projects for families in Boone County.
Gifts can be offered in the basket at Mass this weekend or online at ZionsvilleCatholic.com/give.
This year’s projects:
The 2013 Apostles Build, a project shared among local church volunteers, is wrapping up with landscaping scheduled for Saturday, July 27. The home is located in Lebanon.
A second build will begin on August 10 for a family in Thorntown, Ind. This project will begin with a wall build at the Zionsville Presbyterian Church parking lot. All volunteers throughout the area are welcome to help.
Roll up your sleeves and join the fun! Volunteers with Habitat for Humanity are able to watch their individual efforts become a part of something big - a completed house for a family! Learn from others or even help serve lunch to volunteer crews ... there is something anyone can do. Pray about offering your talents to help Habitat for Humanity this year and contact parishioner Tony Kaufmann on how to serve.
