Extra Volunteers needed: A few more volunteers would be greatly appreciated for overseeing the kids' party hat making station or serving as a campus tour guide. Both roles are fun and simple. Please email [email protected] if you would like to take part at either station. The brisk autumn air, the richly colored trees, the shorter days, they all mean one thing: the season is changing, and as you know, St. Alphonsus is changing right with it. Our renovations have come quite a long way and after all of our hard work and patience, it is about time to reap the harvest!
A special opening celebration will be our opportunity to feature each of the newly renovated buildings. On Sunday, October 14 following the 10:30 a.m. Mass, you will have the chance to tour the buildings while making stops along the way to learn about our history and the many wonderful ministries at our parish. Get ready to enjoy some Donut Sunday refreshments, as well as children’s games!
Historic Parish Facility Tours
After Mass, you are invited to head on over to Parish Hall where tour guides will be eagerly waiting to show you around. On your tour, you will be able to see the new and improved Parish Hall before heading over to the new office to view a history room about our parish. Finish up the tour by checking out the renovations inside Weitzel Hall, and then rejoin us in Parish Hall for refreshments.
Event Refreshments
Donut Sunday is returning, and for this event, it will be bigger than ever before. To celebrate the accomplishments of our parish, we are taking coffee and donuts to a new level. Join us for your morning cup of joe, a celebratory donut, or perhaps a danish or bagel, and some fresh fruit. We are making this one sweet and tasty celebration!
Parish History Room
While you explore the new Parish Office, formerly the RE building, you will have an opportunity to learn about you, a parishioner of St. Alphonsus, when discovering where you have come from: a long line of faith and fellowship. St. Alphonsus is packed with a rich history waiting to be discovered. This is your chance to look through old parish photos, yearbooks, other documents and articles, you name it. Help us to celebrate the beauty of our present and the promise of our future by learning about the strength of our past!
Mini Ministry Fair
Remember where we had all those fun fish frys? Well, Weitzel Hall has been tailored for a new kind of fun. While you explore this upgraded building, now the home of RE and youth ministry, make sure that you take the time to peruse through ministry tables. This is your chance to learn about, take pride in, and perhaps even join in on some of the wonderful ministries that help to make St. Alphonsus as special as it is. In this building you will also find rooms with presentations on Fruitful Harvest and Year of Faith.
Family Activities
Before you leave Weitzel Hall, make sure that you help us to celebrate by joining in on some games for our younger parishioners! Once you're done, you are invited to come on back to Parish Hall to enjoy those ultimate Donut Sunday refreshments and continue to celebrate everything that it means to be a parishioner of St. Alphonsus!
So come out and celebrate on this fall afternoon! The event will go from 11:30 a.m. until about 1:30 p.m.
