Join us beginning Sunday, September 11 as the 5 p.m. Mass returns to St. Alphonsus!
Starting back up this month: Little Flowers
Young girls, kindergarten through grade six, are welcome to join monthly meetings filled with arts, crafts and special badge work. Girls will take a deeper look at the gifts of the Holy Spirit, women saints and more. Thursday, September 1 is the first gathering where program materials can be purchased and parents are invited ... oh and a special game night is already planned for Friday, September 23. Starting back up this month: Youth Ministry
Middle and High School students are invited to dive into their faith as they learn about the sacraments, the Church and how to be young disciples in a modern world. With the start of fall, the weather may be cooling down, but St. Alphonsus choirs are warming up with rehearsals and events to prepare for Masses. Parish Book Study - September 6 -21
A new book study will offer group discussions and presentations. The chosen text is Sacraments in Scripture: Salvation History Made Present by Tim Gray. This reading journey will take you through the Seven Sacraments demonstrating how sacramental life is part of God's plan and evident throughout Scripture. Meetings are Tuesdays, September 6 - 20 in St. Robert Room at 7 p.m. or Wednesdays, September 7 - 21 in Weitzel hall at 10 a.m. More details are in the weekly bulletin.
Catholic Faith Inquiry Night - Wednesday, September 7 at 6 p.m. in the reception room
So what about this ... ? For those who are discerning the Catholic Faith or have questions regarding teachings of the Church, this is a great night to seek answers. The faith formation crew at St. Alphonsus has created a comfortable atmosphere for those interested, but still questioning, whether to become Catholic. Family Movie Night & Rosary - Friday, September 16 at 6:30 p.m.
Bring your kids, friends and parents to a movie event for all ages. The Knights of Columbus and Embrace Life ministries will set up a big screen in Parish Hall, pop popcorn and serve fresh lemonade. The feature film will be The Miracle of Marcelino, and instead of lengthy previews, guests will be invited to pray the rosary to start off the evening. Admission is FREE.
Women’s Christ Renews His Parish Weekend - September 17 –18 on campus

Haiti Parish Ministry Gathering, All are invited! - Tuesday, September 20 at 6 p.m. in Weitzel Hall
The Haiti Parish Ministry is getting underway with organizing development resources, fundraising and a medical trip to help our twin parish - St. Anthony of Padua in Croix Fer, Haiti. This evening's meeting welcomes all parishioners looking to be a part of service efforts and planning. Come learn how you can be involved and make a difference for our friends in Croix Fer.
Dr. Ray Guarendi - Tuesday, September 27, 7 – 9 p.m. in the church
Come to a special parenting presentation by humorous Catholic radio host and clinical psychologist, Dr. Ray Guarendi. Books and other resources will be available to purchase and babysitting will be provided! More information is in the weekly bulletin.
Parish Liturgy Retreat - Thursdays, September 29, October 6 and 13 at 7 p.m.
The 3rd Edition of the Roman Missal will go into effect on November 27. There will be opportunities to inform and educate parishioners on some of the translations that will occur. Please join us for this parish-wide session starting in the church as we learn the new Roman Missal together.
