Vocations & Resources

"God created everything for man, but man in turn was created to serve and love God and to offer all creation back to him." (Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraph 358)

As Christians we are all called to holiness and to seek the Kingdom of God. We were created to love and serve Our Lord with all our hearts. A vocation is a calling on how we are to love and serve. God calls each of us to a vocation. If you are discerning a religious vocation, please email the Director of Vocations for the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana, Father Hasser at frhasser@priestforever.org or call 317.873.2885.

Race for Vocations
"I have competed well; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith." - II Timothy 4:7
Started in 2008, Race for Vocations is an overall effort where hundreds of participants train, pray, attend Mass and run or walk in the annual One America 500 Festival mini marathon and 5K in downtown Indianapolis. Sponsored by the young adults of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, Race for Vocations welcomes all ages to participate, promote and pray for vocations to the priesthood, religious life, sacred married life and sacred single life.

A note from Our Pastor Father O'Keeffe on vocations
Many of our young people wrestle in silence with what they may be called to by God. Some confide in me and others speak to our youth ministers. They actually hunger to make a difference in the world. Our parish has been blessed with a small number of young men and women who are truly discerning their vocation. They are seriously considering the call to religious life, the life of a single person or if they are called to Holy Marriage. It is a struggle in a world that makes no time to listen for God’s voice. Or in a society that just presumes a young person will marry and "hope it works."

I ask you to use intercessory prayer for the young people of our parish who are honestly listening for the voice of God. Pray also for your siblings, sons and daughters and grandchildren. To follow God’s will in this life is to find happiness.
